What eras of US History will we learn about? The Michigan Department of Education breaks our study of US History into 9 Eras. The first five eras are covered from the 5th and 8th grades. We will review 8th grade material at the beginning of the year to assess how well students have retained that information. Then we will dig into the 9th grade material. The 9th grade eras include the following:
Era 6-Development of the Industrial, Urban and Global United States (1870-1930) Era 7-The Great Depression and World War 2 (1920-1945) Era 8-Post World War 2 United States (1945-1989) Era 9-America in a New Global Age (1989-Present) |
